Inclusive Financial Systems specialises
in Financial Systems Development. IFS is
operated by Stefan Staschen
who is an expert on assessing, designing and implementing
appropriate legal frameworks for financial institutions serving
the poor. His work has also focused on the use of technology
in improving access to financial services, the transformation
of NGOs into regulated financial institutions, ownership and
governance issues of microfinance institutions, and savings
mobilisation.
Since 2006, Mr Staschen works as Policy Advisory Consultant
to the Consultative
Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP). He works with both CGAP's
Policy
Team and Technology
Program. Before that, he has worked for various clients
such as the German
Technical Cooperation (GTZ), Women's
World Banking (WWB), the IMF,
and others.
Mr Staschen has a strong academic background and is up to
date to latest developments in research in his area of expertise.
He is currently writing up his PhD
on the regulatory impact assessment of microfinance in Uganda
at the London
School of Economics.
